Why Your New Year's Manifestations Don't Always Become Reality
Every year, as December approaches, we begin thinking about the next version of ourselves.
Maybe this will be the year we finally pursue that dream. The year we feel more confident, find deeper connections, create financial freedom, or simply experience more happiness.
We make vision boards. We write down our intentions. We imagine what life could look like if everything fell into place.
And yet, sometimes, despite how badly we want something, we find ourselves repeating the same patterns.
I wonder why that is.
What if the reason we struggle to create change isn't because we don't want it badly enough?
What if there's a part of us that doesn't feel safe having it?
When Your Conscious Desires and Subconscious Patterns Disagree
Imagine someone who deeply desires a loving relationship.
Consciously, they want intimacy, vulnerability, and connection. But perhaps somewhere along the way, they learned that getting close to someone meant risking rejection or abandonment.
So while one part of them longs for connection, another part may work to protect them from it.
They might withdraw when relationships become serious, question someone's intentions, or find themselves attracted to emotionally unavailable partners.
Not because they don't want love.
But because some of their learned protective responses may conflict with what they consciously desire.
This is one of the reasons I find parts therapy so fascinating.
Parts therapy is an approach used in hypnosis and other therapeutic modalities to explore the different feelings, motivations, and internal responses we experience.
Rather than treating resistance as something we need to fight, we become curious about it.
What is this part trying to accomplish?
What does it believe might happen if we change?
And what might it need to feel more comfortable moving forward?
What If Your Resistance Is Trying to Protect You?
Let's say your goal for 2027 is to become more visible.
Maybe you want to start a business, speak publicly, or finally share something you've been creating.
You feel excited thinking about the possibilities.
But every time you try to take action, you procrastinate.
It's easy to label yourself lazy or undisciplined.
But what if there's more to the story?
What if a part of you associates visibility with judgment?
What if another part remembers a time when being noticed resulted in criticism?
And what if procrastination has become a familiar way to avoid those uncomfortable feelings?
Understanding these patterns doesn't automatically make them disappear. But awareness can create an opportunity to respond differently.
Manifestation Is More Than Imagining What You Want
I love the idea of beginning a new year with intention.
But I think there's something worth exploring beyond simply visualizing the outcome.
Who do you believe you need to become to experience the life you're imagining?
What thoughts or habits might support that version of you?
What beliefs might make it difficult?
And perhaps most importantly, is the life you're imagining actually the life you want, or the life you've been conditioned to believe you should want?
That's a question I think we could spend an entire afternoon exploring.
Creating Your Highest Timeline for 2027
This curiosity is part of what inspired my upcoming Quantum Journeys: Your Highest Timeline 2027 workshop.
Rather than creating another vision board filled with things we think we should want, we're going to explore the desires beneath those goals.
Through guided hypnosis, participants will be invited to connect with their Higher Self as a personal, reflective experience, explore subconscious resistance through group parts therapy exercises, and begin creating an intentional blueprint for 2027.
We'll explore questions like:
What do I truly desire?
What does happiness actually mean to me?
What am I ready to release?
What might be standing between me and the life I want to create?
Because perhaps the most meaningful part of manifesting a new year isn't imagining a different life.
Perhaps it's understanding ourselves well enough to begin creating one.
